What we do
We finish basements across the Triangle — framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, electrical, plumbing, and everything needed to turn raw square footage into livable space. NC’s humid climate makes moisture management especially important, and we address it before any finishing work begins.
Common basement projects
- Full basement finishing — Framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, lighting, HVAC extension, bathroom rough-in
- Basement bathroom addition — Toilet, sink, shower with proper drainage (may require sewage ejector pump)
- Basement bedroom — Egress window installation, closet framing, dedicated electrical circuits
- Home office / rec room — Insulation, lighting, outlet placement for workstations and entertainment systems
- Wet bar / kitchenette — Plumbing rough-in, dedicated electrical, cabinetry
NC-specific considerations
Egress requirements: Any basement bedroom must have a code-compliant egress window. We excavate the window well, install the window and well liner, and ensure proper drainage away from the foundation.
Moisture management: The Piedmont’s clay soils and humid summers mean most NC basements have some moisture exposure. Before any framing, we assess and address drainage, waterproofing, and ventilation.
Ceiling height: NC code requires a minimum 7-foot ceiling in habitable basement space. Many Triangle homes meet this, but some older homes with low ceilings may need creative solutions or may not be candidates for full finishing.
