Chapel Hill — 30 minutes from HQ

Chapel Hill combines a university town’s character with some of the Triangle’s most established neighborhoods. The housing stock ranges from 1950s ranches near campus to new construction in Briar Chapel and Meadowmont, giving us a wide variety of project types.

We’re 30 minutes from our Raleigh shop via I-40. Chapel Hill and Carrboro fall within our core service area.

What we do in Chapel Hill

  • Remodeling — Kitchen and bathroom renovations are the top request, particularly in established neighborhoods like Governor’s Club, Meadowmont, and The Oaks. Many Chapel Hill homes were custom-built with good bones but dated interiors.
  • Electrical — Panel upgrades for older homes near campus, EV charger installation in newer communities, lighting modernization, aluminum wiring remediation in 1960s–1970s homes
  • Plumbing — Water heater replacement, fixture upgrades, galvanized pipe replacement in pre-1980 homes, well pump coordination for rural Orange County properties
  • Handyman — Deck maintenance, drywall repair, door hanging, exterior painting, gutter work

Chapel Hill’s housing character

Chapel Hill’s neighborhoods each have distinct housing profiles:

Near campus / downtown (pre-1970): Smaller homes with character — hardwood floors, plaster walls, original trim. These homes need updated electrical (often 60- or 100-amp panels), repiped supply lines, and kitchen/bathroom modernization that respects the home’s original character.

Meadowmont / Southern Village (1990s–2000s): Planned communities with consistent architecture. Homes are hitting the 25-year mark where builder-grade finishes need replacement and mechanical systems need attention.

Governor’s Club / Fearrington (mixed era): Upscale homes with higher-end finishes. Projects here tend to be luxury kitchen remodels, primary bathroom renovations, and whole-house updates.

Briar Chapel (2010s–present): Newer homes with modern systems but growing demand for EV chargers, home office additions, and the first round of cosmetic updates.
